Challenge
RiverNorth is a leading investment manager focused on trading and managing closed-end funds. With an array of investment vehicles and a broad target market, the RiverNorth website provided a unique challenge for the MBC Strategic team in 2024. The firm is data-driven and showcases its range of CEF indices, as well as promoting its closed end, mutual fund, ETF and private funds across its site, leveraging diversified, multi-asset strategies and unique insights into CEF trading, arbitrage and management. In addition to the closed-end fund website, the project included a refreshed brand, logo and materials for the $5 billion asset manager.
Strategy
The rebranding process focused on creating a visual identity and messaging platform that emphasized RiverNorth’s expertise and position as a leader in the closed-end fund space. A new logo was designed with custom typography and visual elements that reflected the firm’s unique focus, as well as its specialized approach to portfolio management. A refined color palette and design language were established to ensure the brand communicated depth and authority.
The updated brand was extended across RiverNorth’s digital presence through the creation of a dynamic and user-friendly website with dynamic charting and automated data feeds across product types. The website was tailored to segmented investor audiences, offering distinct pathways for varying types of users, content and file management—including a log in for private funds and qualified clients and cookie-based content delineation for financial professionals along with API integration with the CRM forms and user groups. Complementing the digital strategy, MBC Strategic developed a suite of branded materials, including pitch decks, brochures, and other marketing assets, ensuring consistency across all platforms.

The refreshed brand debuted in late 2024 with a coordinated launch across digital platforms, investor materials and industry events. The comprehensive rebrand strengthened RiverNorth’s market presence, effectively showcasing its leadership in the closed-end fund space. The new website and collateral provided a clear and cohesive representation of the firm’s strategies and expertise, enhancing its ability to connect with and serve its diverse investor base.
