The Investment Marketing Business
Continuing education is an important training tool at nearly all investment-related firms. Whether it is part of a structured program or strictly an internal process, firms need to keep staff learning and motivated. As a part of our internal program and to better serve our clients, key MBC team members recently attended a conference sponsored by Investment Advisor Magazine called “Grow Your Practice.” The conference detailed specific strategies and industry standards involved in targeting and executing growth strategies for advisory practices of all sizes. Key topics included: industry metrics and benchmarks, staffing and hiring, and succession planning. Keep your staff informed and up-to-date with internal communications and training programs.
Watch List
The team at MBC expanded considerably in 2006 as we extended our presence on the east coast, opening a New York office and adding several key staff members. In addition, we widened our expertise and service offerings. We now offer public relations services to help firms effectively craft and deliver their message through the right media outlets. We also added to our creative breadth with an advertising and PR specialist and an in-house designer that specializes in both print and web design, as well as adding additional expertise with alternative investment firms. This was done to more effectively support our clients marketing and branding efforts. Our goal is to offer comprehensive branding, marketing, and PR services across the entire financial and investment communities.
Marketing Consultant’s Corner
During the fourth quarter, the team at MBC helped to re-design and re-launch an entire branding and marketing package for a consumer finance firm. The firm is a national lender specializing in medical finance and was looking for a new identity package and client-facing collateral system to better reach and connect with their market. The project included the design and development of identity materials, core message, website, and sales literature.
The Ticker
A valuable component of any wholesale-driven investment firm or brokerage business is the ability to help advisors with practice management. This process involves tools, tips, and techniques on how to run a more efficient and effective advisory practice. From setting goals to maximizing profitability, the process of practice management is a very topical and important concept across the investment industry.
